About Training Sessions & Billing
Here are some common questions people ask about the services offered by the FlexForce team.
Billing Questions
How we handle payments and insurance
-
Payments can be made via credit card, bank transfer, check, or Zelle.
-
Unfortunately, medical insurance does not cover our training services. While many of our trainers have medical backgrounds or are licensed physical therapists, they work exclusively as personal trainers, which means insurance companies won’t cover the costs.
However, in some cases, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) may reimburse you for a portion of the training expenses. If the training is recommended for a medical condition, you or your accountant may be able to classify it as a tax-deductible expense (with a doctor’s note), but this would also require you to cover the cost initially and be reimbursed by your insurer.
-
There are no long commitments or contracts. We bill on a month-to-month basis.
-
Yes, you can cancel at any time and we will reimburse you for any sessions that you have not used.
-
Any missed sessions that were billed and paid for, will be credited to you in the next month's invoice. If you don’t continue training, we will reimburse you, via check. You will never lose a session that you pay for.
Physical Therapy, Personal Training - Medical Fitness
Discover how B&B’s approach to Medical Fitness can work hand-in-hand with your therapy plan.
-
Before we starting our first day of personal training, we will speak to your Physical Therapist about your case. We want to know how you came in and how you and yur body are once you come out. We will want to know if we have any limitations or anything that is not DPT recommended. If you are starting Training during therapy, we can work with the PT to offer complementary programming (Your therapist can focus all their time on gait training and balance, and we can focus on strength training and mobility).
-
We find the best results when clients start training before Physical Therapy ends. This way, we can talk with the Therapist, and compliment what they are doing. This also creates a smooth transition of care from DPT to Personal Training.
-
Yes, you should continue to exercise with a medical fitness trainer after you have been discharged from physical therapy. It is important to train with someone who fully understands how to work with someone with your condition, your age, or your functional level. Supervised exercise will help you maintain and even progress past your functional levels from when you left PT, by working on your strength, stability, mobility, range of motion, gait (walking), and balance, or any specific goals you may have.
-
Although we share trainer bio’s and give you a snapshot of what each trainer has to offer, we think that we are better qualified to assess your specific needs and match you with the trainer who will be able to partner with you for the best results. This recommendation is based on the trainer’s skill and experience with your condition, their personality, and their availability to train.
-
The Trainer/Client relationship is very important at B&B. Having a collaborative effort in working together to improve your health and reach your goals should always be the case. As with any relationship it takes time to build and to learn trust. Our extensive assessment process helps us to understand your unique needs and we pair you with who we believe to be the best trainer for you. If, after working with your trainer you are not satisfied we will honor your request and place you with a different highly skilled trainer.

We try to keep our commutes, between clients, to about 30 min or less. We currently train clients in Rockville, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Wheaton, Laytonsville, Germantown, Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, Olney, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Kensington, Burtonsville, Laurel, Hyattsville, DC, Arlington, Reston, Vienna, Tysons, and McLean. We also focus in the Bay Area - Easton, Saint Michaels, Grasonville, Stevensville. So if you live within 30 min of any of those, there's a good chance we can train you. If not, call us and we can try to connect you with someone in our network who we know, like, and trust.

You don’t need to have your own equipment, but if you do have equipment or access to a gym or fitness facility we can use it. We come to you prepared with all of the equipment that you will need for a full workout session. If we think you should buy equipment, we will let you know.
-
Yes, absolutely. At B&B, we work with clients at all levels of mobility—including those who are bed-bound, use wheelchairs, or rely on walking aids.
We specialize in complex cases and are passionate about helping people regain independence. For example, we’ve worked with a client who had relied on a wheelchair for over five years and is now able to walk short distances with a cane. Another client came to us completely bed-bound after a prolonged hospital stay; with consistent training, they’re now able to transfer independently, walk with a walker, and enjoy outings with their family again. Progress is possible—no matter where you're starting from. -
Yes, we can! At B&B, we often work with couples or family members who want to train together, even if they’re at different functional levels.
We offer a shared session option with a small 2-person surcharge. If one person can’t make it, we simply adjust the rate to the individual session price.
We’ll tailor each session to meet both of your needs—whether you're at similar levels or have different goals and abilities. During your Initial Consultation or a quick phone call, we can talk through the best approach for you both.
Virtual Training Sessions - what to expect
Learn some of the aspects of going virtual.
-
Yes, we do offer virtual sessions for those who prefer to train remotely.
While most of our clients enjoy the hands-on support of in-home training, we understand that virtual sessions may be a better fit for some. Whether it’s due to health concerns, travel, or convenience, we’ll work with you to create a safe and effective training experience—wherever you are. -
You will need internet access and a smartphone, tablet, or a laptop/computer with a webcam, so we can keep an eye on your form. It’s best if you have about 8-10 feet of space, so you can place the camera on one side, so we can see your whole body.
-
Our virtual training is fully customized to you—unlike pre-recorded classes, everything we do is based on your goals, abilities, and progress.
We start with a one-on-one assessment to understand your needs, then build a tailored program just for you. At the end of each month, we re-evaluate your progress and adjust your plan to keep you improving safely and effectively.
During each session, we give real-time guidance to correct your form, prevent injury, and keep you motivated. And because it’s personal training, you’ll also get conversation, encouragement, and a connection that no video can provide.
